Some information about the family of Mykhailo Drapatyi, who was appointed commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, has been revealed.
Modern.az reports that Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi and his wife Yuliya Drapatyi are raising two children. The couple prefers to keep their personal lives away from the public and does not share family photos on social media.
The Ukrainian public first saw Yuliya Drapatyi in a television report broadcast in August 2014. At that time, Mykhailo Drapatyi commanded the 2nd mechanized battalion of the 72nd separate mechanized brigade in the anti-terrorist operation zone in Donbas and evacuated 260 besieged servicemen from the combat zone.
During the report, Drapatyi was interviewed with his son Ivan in his arms. Currently, the family has two children – Ivan's sister Anna is also growing up. Like their parents, the children live a life away from the public.
According to information, Yuliya Drapatyi is a graduate of the Vinnytsia Academy of Continuing Education. She currently works as a teacher at the Sergey Tomashuk Art School No. 5 in Bila Tserkva and is also a member of the "Alexandria" bandura players ensemble.
It should be noted that Mykhailo Drapatyi has already started his new duties. In his first statement, he announced that Major General Ihor Skibyuk would be appointed Chief of the General Staff.
