Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that in the first half of 2026, the supply of missiles for air defense systems to the country from abroad decreased threefold compared to last year.

Modern.az reports that Zelensky made this statement after a meeting with military leadership and representatives of special services.

According to him, compared to 2025, the number of air defense missiles sent to Ukraine decreased threefold.

"This applies not only to the summer period, but to the entire first six months of 2026. Partners have missiles. The main issue is making political decisions regarding their supply and accelerating production, including localization in Ukraine," Zelensky said.

The President added that the priorities of long-range strikes on Russian territory were also discussed at the meeting.

He noted that Ukrainian forces' operations against Russian oil facilities and oil refineries continue.

"The cost of prolonging the war for Russia will increase. Partners' sanctions against Russia should strengthen our long-range capabilities. We will discuss this issue with key states," Zelensky emphasized.

Earlier, the "Financial Times" newspaper wrote that US President Donald Trump rejected Zelensky's request for hundreds of "Patriot" anti-aircraft missile system missiles to Ukraine. According to the publication, Trump cited the limited stock of anti-ballistic missile ammunition in US warehouses and their necessity for American military personnel in the Middle East as the reason.
