Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei has signed decrees on new appointments to a number of important positions in the country's supreme military command.
Modern.az reports that "Tasnim" has disseminated information about this.
According to the decrees, IRGC Major General Ali Abdollahi has been appointed as the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces. His deputy is Brigadier General Kioumars Heydari.
Ahmad Vahidi has been appointed as the Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC and has been given the rank of Major General. IRGC Major General Mostafa Izzadi has taken the position of Deputy Commander-in-Chief.
Command of the Navy has been entrusted to Rear Admiral Ali Azami.
Hossein Taeb has been appointed as the head of the "Basij-e Mostazafin" paramilitary forces.
