The trial of Arif Hajiyev, accused of murdering his wife in Shamkir, has been held.
Modern.az reports with reference to APA that the verdict was read out at the trial held under the chairmanship of Judge Mikayil Mammadzade in the Ganja Court of Grave Crimes.
According to the verdict, the accused Arif Hajiyev was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
He will serve his sentence in a strict regime correctional facility.
It should be noted that the incident occurred in October last year in Shamkir district. Arif Hajiyev slit his wife Royala Hajiyeva's throat and killed her due to a family conflict.
He was charged under Article 120.2.4 of the Criminal Code (murder with particular cruelty or by a generally dangerous method).
