Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler Ibrahim Hasanov has qualified for the final of the U-17 World Championship held in Baku.
Modern.az reports that the athlete, competing in the 51 kg weight category, defeated Russian Islam Kurakhmaev 10:6 in the semi-finals.
He will face Iranian Benyamin Ashoften Mayvan in the gold medal match on August 2.
It should be noted that I. Hasanov had previously defeated Indian Govind Govind 10:3 in the 1/4 finals and Georgian Giorgi Narimanidze 4:2 in the 1/8 finals.
It is worth reminding that the World Championship is being held at the National Gymnastics Arena. Nearly 700 teenage wrestlers from more than 60 countries are participating in the competition. 29 Azerbaijani wrestlers are representing Azerbaijan in the mundial.
