An interesting detail has emerged about the doctor of the Senegal national team.
Modern.az reports, citing foreign media, that Abdoulaye Fall, head of the Senegalese Football Federation, announced that the team's doctor, Fedior Diogou, actually has a specialization in gynecology.
According to the head of the federation, he only learned about this when the doctor was already working for the national team.
“The team doctor did not have the necessary professional training to work with footballers. I only learned this during the work process. Dr. Fedior is a gynecologist by profession. Footballers did not feel comfortable enough to regularly seek his treatment. We needed a specialist whose professionalism was beyond doubt,” said the federation president.
According to the information, some footballers also did not fully trust the doctor due to his specialization.
This statement caused widespread discussions on social networks. Some users jokingly linked the early elimination of the Senegal national team from the World Cup to this factor.
It should be noted that no official statement has yet been made by the team's former doctor regarding the matter.
