The International Olympic Committee has lifted the restrictions imposed on the Russian Olympic Committee.

According to the official information released by the Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee, the decision was made after a detailed analysis conducted by the Legal Affairs Commission.
It was stated that the Russian Olympic Committee no longer includes regional sports organizations operating in territories under the jurisdiction of the Ukrainian National Olympic Committee. In addition, the Russian Olympic Committee has confirmed that it will not operate in those territories.
The International Olympic Committee emphasized that it will continue to monitor the activities of the Russian Olympic Committee regarding the aforementioned territories and may take additional measures if necessary.
It should be noted that the Russian Olympic Committee was suspended by the IOC in October 2023 for incorporating regional Olympic councils in the occupied Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine.
Prior to this, after Russia's large-scale military intervention in Ukraine in 2022, Russian athletes were mainly able to participate in international competitions under a neutral status.
