The late US Senator Lindsey Graham's Senate seat will be filled by his sister, Darlene Graham Norton.
Modern.az reports with reference to foreign media that this was announced by the governor of South Carolina, Henry McMaster.
According to the decision, Darlene Graham Norton will serve as senator until January 2027. The next elections to the US Senate will be held in November 2026.
According to the information, Lindsey Graham was preparing to be re-elected as a senator at the time of his death. Extraordinary elections will be held in South Carolina in August to determine the Republican Party's candidate.
It should be noted that Lindsey Graham died on July 11 at the age of 71. He was a member of the US Senate for four terms and was known as one of the main supporters of Washington's tough foreign policy course.
