Information on price changes in the consumer market for January-June 2026 has been released.
Modern.az reports that, according to official statistics, in June 2026, the consumer price index increased by 5.8 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. In January-June, consumer prices increased by an average of 5.7 percent compared to the corresponding period of last year.
According to the information, in January-June, prices for food products, alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased by 6.7 percent, for food products by 6.6 percent, for alcoholic beverages by 7.7 percent, and for tobacco products by 10.3 percent. Prices for non-food products increased by 3.8 percent, and for paid services by 5.7 percent.
In June, compared to the previous month, overall consumer prices decreased by 0.3 percent. Prices for food products, alcoholic beverages and tobacco products decreased by 0.7 percent, and for food products by 0.8 percent. At the same time, prices for non-food products and paid services increased by 0.1 percent.
As for monthly changes in product groups, in June, the price of vegetables decreased by 6.7 percent, the price of eggs by 4.2 percent, and the price of fish and fish products by 0.3 percent. In contrast, fruits increased by 0.9 percent, mineral waters, soft drinks and juices by 0.6 percent, butter and vegetable oils, sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and candies by 0.3 percent, and tea, coffee and cocoa with alcoholic beverages by 0.2 percent. No change was recorded in the prices of bread and bakery products, as well as tobacco products.
