The candidacy of Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan for the post of special representative for the normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations is being considered.
Modern.az reports that the Armenian newspaper "Zhoghovurd" spread information about this, citing sources.
According to the publication, Kostanyan is currently considered the only candidate for this position. However, the consent of the Turkish side is also required for his appointment. For this reason, it is stated that the final decision has not yet been made.
Vahan Kostanyan, who made a statement regarding the information, said that no such discussions were held.
It should be noted that currently, the position of Armenia's special representative in the process of normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations is held by Deputy Speaker of Parliament Ruben Rubinyan. He will become the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament starting next month.
