Satsibeli sauce, one of the famous examples of Georgian national cuisine, is gaining more and more buyers in foreign markets.
Modern.az reports that, according to the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia, 188 tons of satsibeli sauce were exported from the country in June. The total value of the export was 490 thousand US dollars.
According to the information, compared to the same period last year, the volume of satsibeli exports increased by 65 percent, and its value by 59 percent.
Satsibeli is considered one of the most famous sauces of Georgian cuisine. It is mainly prepared on the basis of tomatoes, walnuts, garlic, cilantro, adjika and various spices.
According to statistics, Russia is the largest buyer of Georgian satsibeli. 224 tons of products were sent to this country. The following places are occupied by European Union countries (116 tons), USA (104 tons), Azerbaijan (93 tons) and Israel (90 tons).
Experts believe that the growing interest in national food products has a positive effect on the expansion of Georgia's food exports.
