Subscribers address various questions to the subordinate bodies and structures of the State Agency for Water Resources of Azerbaijan through known communication channels and receive prompt and accurate answers.
Among these questions are also those covering topics frequently addressed by citizens. The United Water Supply Service for Large Cities of ADSEA presents these questions and their answers in stages.
Modern.az presents the next questions and answers of the "5 Questions, 5 Answers" section.
- Should a fee be paid for the laboratory inspection of the meter?
- If the meter is inspected at the subscriber's request or due to their fault, it is carried out at their own expense; in other cases, it is at the expense of the water and sewage department.
- If an illegal connection to the water supply system is detected, for what period is the incurred damage calculated?
- If illegal connections to the water supply system are detected and the date of such connection cannot be determined, the volume of lost water is calculated for up to the past 1 year, in accordance with the "Rules for Water Use".
- If I engage in commercial activity in a part of my house, at what tariff should the water passing through the apartment's meter be calculated?
- Calculations for the subscriber's objects belonging to different tariff groups in the same or separate areas are carried out according to the tariff established for the consumer group to which each of them belongs. For drinking and wastewater services used in the part where entrepreneurial activity is carried out, a contract must be concluded with the district water and sewage department for the non-residential consumer group, a separation must be made at the entrance of the apartment's internal water supply line, and an appropriate smart meter must be installed at the consumer's expense at the metering point of the line allocated to the commercial object (in the part separated before the apartment's meter).
- Should a fee be paid for the installation of the meter?
- The provision of water meters to consumers, their installation, and replacement are carried out at the expense of the water and sewage department for consumers who are natural persons (residential consumer group), and at the consumer's own expense for consumers who are legal entities (non-residential consumer group). The subsequent transfer of the area (object) where a water meter is installed for use (lease) by any person is not a basis for the removal (replacement) of the water meter or for demanding payment from that person for the costs incurred by the water and sewage department for its installation.
- How do I restore a faulty payment?
- An identity document, payment receipt, and smart card must be submitted to ASAN Communal Centers or the relevant local water and sewage department.
