Mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani, in your post regarding the 1915 events, you accused Azerbaijan and Turkey of attacking the Armenian population of Karabakh in 2020 and expelling them from Karabakh. You called these events “a continuation of the genocide campaign that began 100 years ago.”
Mr. Mamdani, you are unaware of Muslim, Turkish, Arab history!
What you wrote about Azerbaijan and Turkey gives me reason to say this.
Unlike you, I know the history of the genocide committed by America against Native Americans very well.
If you read the history of Azerbaijan, if you want to look at the common Muslim history, then you would know about the heroism of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijanis, Turks in world history, and also the sacrifices and bravery they showed to protect their native lands and homeland. Woe to the person who speaks without knowing the history of a people he accuses and blames, following rumors.
I would like to remind you of a few lines from what General Harbord wrote, who informed America about his meetings after meeting Atatürk in 1924. General Harbord's report is a document prepared by a commission sent to the Middle East by US President Woodrow Wilson after the First World War to investigate relations with Armenia.
Major General James Harbord stated the following in his report after his investigations:
“Claims that Armenians were massacred are not true... We saw no signs throughout our journey that the Turks intended to cross the border and massacre Armenians, as claimed in telegrams we received from Transcaucasia before departing from Paris.”

If you consider America your homeland, then at least to substantiate your accusation, you should have thoroughly studied Major General Harbord's report to then-President Woodrow Wilson, which is preserved in the American archives. Mixing history and making baseless claims is not as easy as rapping.
To call a nation's struggle for its lands a “continuation of genocide” – what conscience, what principle can accommodate that?
I understand that you do not take into account the genocide committed by Armenians in 1992 in Khojaly, our historical lands in Karabakh, with the help of the remnants of the “Dashnaktsutyun” in America and the Russian army. Armenian separatists forcibly displaced representatives of our people from their historical and native lands, and took possession of their property. You were a baby then. You were 1 year and 8 months old. Azerbaijani babies of your age were shot and massacred by Armenian Dashnaks, their mothers' breasts were cut off and they were raped.
When you were elected Mayor of New York City, you swore an oath on the “Quran”. Looking at your political activity, I see that you have participated in many campaigns for people's violated rights? But why did you not feel any pity for the tragedies that befell us, for the people who died from Armenian bullets in our lands that were forcibly taken from us? Is this your oath, your “Quran”? After all, it is written in the “Quran” that the rights of the oppressed should not be trampled. But do you know how God will reward ignoring the rights of Azerbaijanis who have been displaced from their native homes in Karabakh for 30 years?
Today, America as a state stands with Azerbaijan, helping us in opening the Zangezur corridor. It supports the peace we bring to the region. Does the signing of peace talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia in the US White House mean nothing to you?
Sometimes it happens that politicians, after entering the political arena and achieving their goals, forget the oath and promises they made. You also forgot the rights of Azerbaijanis, 80 percent of whose population is Muslim, when you swore on the “Quran”.
God does not forgive people like you in the court of justice!
Sincerely,
Chairman of the “Silk Road” Cultural and Historical Research Public Union
