An explosion occurred at the National Center of Oncology.
Modern.az reports that the incident took place on the first floor of the Radiation Diagnostics Department of the medical institution. During the explosion, radiologist Asif Nasirli sustained severe bodily injuries.
The injured person was immediately hospitalized.
It should be noted that Asif Nasirli studied at the Faculty of Treatment and Prevention of Azerbaijan Medical University in 1999-2005. He completed an internship at the National Center of Oncology in 2005-2006, and clinical residency in 2006-2008.
Since 2008, he has been working as a radiation oncologist in the Radiation Therapy Department and Children's Clinic of the National Center of Oncology. The doctor participated in advanced training courses in Turkey and Russia in 2008-2012.
The main direction of his activity is radiation therapy for solid tumors and oncohematological diseases in children and adults. Asif Nasirli has 9 scientific publications.
For information, employees of law enforcement agencies were involved in the scene, and the causes of the incident are being investigated.
