The US Embassy in Azerbaijan has issued a statement on Memorial Day.
Modern.az reports that the statement said the embassy had suspended its operations for one day.
"Every year on this day, Americans respectfully commemorate the memory of servicemen who lost their lives while serving in the US Armed Forces.
It was noted that as the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary of independence, the sacrifices of those who died for freedom, peace and common values are gratefully remembered," the statement said.
