Gagik Tsarukyan, the leader of the "Prosperous Armenia" Party, attempted to leave Armenia today via "Zvartnots" airport, but law enforcement agencies did not allow him to leave the country.
Modern.az reports that Armenian media spread information about this.
According to the information, on June 9, the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia opened a criminal case against Tsarukyan on charges of tax evasion, especially in large amounts. As a preventive measure, he was banned from leaving the country.
It should be noted that the party led by Tsarukyan failed to pass the 4 percent vote barrier by collecting 3.99% of the votes in the parliamentary elections held on June 7. Representatives of the "Prosperous Armenia" Party stated that they do not agree with this result and will appeal to the Central Election Commission with a request for a recount of votes.
