"We are optimistic about the development of relations between Azerbaijan and France."
French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Sophie Lagoutte told Modern.az in an exclusive statement.
The Ambassador said that last week the Advisor to the President of France for Europe and Turkey visited Baku and met with Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev.
"The Advisor to the President of France for Europe and Turkey was in Baku last week. We had very productive discussions on our bilateral relations and all regional issues. The talks were very positive. We are optimistic about the development of our relations," the Ambassador noted.

Touching upon the prospect of France's participation in demining and post-conflict reconstruction projects in Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur, Sophie Lagoutte said that cooperation in this direction existed previously.
"We had a demining project and are currently working on new opportunities. There is no concrete project on the table yet. But this is an area where we have cooperated before, and we would be happy to restart that cooperation," the diplomat emphasized.
