US President Donald Trump has announced that sanctions imposed on Turkey for purchasing S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile systems from Russia will be lifted.
Modern.az reports that Trump stated this after a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara.
The US President said that Washington no longer has any concerns about Turkey and that he is not in favor of continuing sanctions against the allied country.
"The US no longer has any concerns. I don't want to impose sanctions against our ally," Trump emphasized.
Trump said that Erdoğan supported him in resolving two conflicts - the issues of Iran and Ukraine.
