Coloring agents, which are not allowed to be used in products obtained from fruit and vegetable nectars and concentrates, have been found in 5 products belonging to 4 manufacturing enterprises.
Modern.az reports that the Food Safety Agency (AQTA) released information about this.
Within the framework of the conducted monitoring, samples were taken from 17 products belonging to 16 manufacturing enterprises and submitted for laboratory examinations for food colorings, preservatives, and organoleptic indicators.
Based on the test results, inconsistencies were identified in products belonging to “Goychay Sud” OJSC, “Drop Be-Az” LLC, “Imperial 01” LLC, and “LG Konserv” LLC.
In addition, serious sanitary-hygiene violations were discovered during an inspection at the pomegranate juice processing plant belonging to “Imperial 01” LLC. In connection with this, the activity of the enterprise has been restricted.
According to the requirements of the relevant normative document, the detected coloring agents are allowed to be used only in beverages with added flavor-aromatic substances. However, the use of these substances is not permitted in fruit juices and nectars.
In accordance with the requirements of the legislation, appropriate measures have been taken regarding the detected inconsistencies and mandatory instructions have been issued. Based on the adopted decision, the destruction of product batches recalled from trade networks is planned.
