Rizvan Huseynov, director of the Caucasus History Center, spoke about the Christian heritage of Caucasian Albania and ancient religious monuments in Karabakh.
Modern.az reports that, according to R. Huseynov, Karabakh is a territory with an important religious heritage not only from the point of view of Azerbaijani or Caucasian Christianity, but also for the Christian world as a whole. According to him, there are three ancient churches in Karabakh that are of special importance for the Christian world.
“Karabakh has three churches that are important not only for Karabakh, not only for Caucasian Christianity, but for all Christians. One of them is Gandzasar, and the others are ancient Christian religious centers in Karabakh,” he noted.
The director of the center spoke about the religious and historical significance of these monuments, stating that each of them bears important traces related to different periods of Christianity and religious figures. He also drew attention to the political processes that have taken place in the region since the First World War and the impact of these processes on religious heritage.
In his speech, R. Huseynov emphasized the importance of researching the Christian heritage of Caucasian Albania and presenting this heritage correctly to the international community.
