Azerbaijan has temporarily abolished the visa regime for citizens of Japan and the Republic of Korea.
Modern.az reports that, according to the decision, citizens of Japan and the Republic of Korea holding ordinary passports will be able to travel to the Republic of Azerbaijan without a visa for tourism purposes from July 1, 2026, to July 1, 2027.
According to the new rules, citizens of these countries can enter Azerbaijan three times without a visa during the specified period and stay in the country for up to 30 days during each visit.
It was noted that this decision aims to facilitate travel opportunities for citizens, strengthen cooperation between countries, and promote the development of tourism.
Citizens of Japan and the Republic of Korea who wish to come to Azerbaijan for purposes other than tourism or stay in the country for a longer period will be able to enter the country after obtaining the appropriate visa in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.
