Large-scale exercises of the Azerbaijani Army, commissioning of new weapon systems and expansion of international military cooperation continue regularly.
Modern.az reports that last week, training flights were conducted with the new JF-17 Block III fighters of the Azerbaijani Air Force, large-scale maneuvers of the ground forces were launched, and special forces participated in a joint training process with Serbian servicemen.
In the first half of this year, Azerbaijan and Turkey conducted at least 6 large military exercises. "Unbreakable Brotherhood-2026", "TurAz Eagle-2026", "Heydar Aliyev-2026", "EFES-2026", "Anatolian Eagle-2026" and "Caucasus Eagle-2026" exercises further strengthened the military coordination of the two brotherly countries.
It is interesting that, in parallel, no large-scale exercises are held in the Armenian army. Although official Yerevan started military reforms after devastating defeats, Yerevan mainly prefers the training of individual units. Large-scale maneuvers involving large troop formations, armored vehicles and various types of troops have hardly been observed in the last 3 years.
The main reason for this is Azerbaijan's military superiority and the new realities formed in the region. Yerevan's avoidance of large-scale exercises is related to both military capabilities and the shadow of the "Iron Fist".
