Representatives of the diplomatic corps visited Vangli village of Aghdara region of Azerbaijan on the second day of their visit to Karabakh.
Modern.az reports that diplomats inspected the Ganjasar Monastery Complex, one of the religious and cultural centers of Caucasian Albania, which was subjected to Armenian vandalism.
It should be noted that the Ganjasar monastery complex is one of our monuments that fell victim to Armenian vandalism. The main buildings of this complex, known in scientific literature as the Khaznadagh temple, were built in the 13th century. The hill on the bank of Khachinchay, where the monastery is located, was considered a sacred place even before Christianity. Ganjasar monastery was the religious and cultural center of Caucasian Albania. During the occupation, the Ganjasar monastery was subjected to falsification and illegal interventions by Armenians, and its historical Albanian architectural style was changed. In 2012, Armenians began to cover the walls of this monument with marble stones. The construction "beautification" works carried out in the courtyard of the complex damaged the original appearance of the monastery.
