Ayxan Hajizada, head of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, commented on the position of the spokesperson of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs regarding the travel warning to Azerbaijan.

It was stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan strongly condemned and rejected the attempt of the spokesperson of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs to justify the travel warning to Azerbaijan in his statement dated September 17 with claims of “arbitrary detention and unfair judicial investigation”:
It is unacceptable to present court proceedings carried out in accordance with Azerbaijani legislation on individual criminal cases based on political considerations and attempts to interfere with the Azerbaijani judicial system.
It cannot go unnoticed that France does not take into account the existing problems in its law enforcement and penitentiary system when making such accusations against Azerbaijan. In addition, the French side's activities such as international legal violations, racism, discrimination, and restriction of human rights are known to everyone.
We call on the French side to refrain from unfounded and biased claims regarding Azerbaijan, to respect the sovereignty and internal affairs of our country, and to put an end to approaches that harm bilateral relations.
