A Russian Mi-8 military helicopter entered Polish airspace from the direction of the Kaliningrad region.
Modern.az reports that the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces issued a statement about this. According to the Command, the helicopter remained in Polish airspace for 42 seconds and crossed approximately 300 meters into the border.
In response to the incident, Polish fighters were scrambled, and ground-based defense forces were put on alert. The Polish side assessed the incident as an attempt by Russia to test the readiness of the country's air defense system.
The Russian Embassy in Warsaw has not yet commented on the incident.
