Armenia has the highest public debt in relation to gross domestic product (GDP) among South Caucasus countries.
Modern.az reports that the International Monetary Fund has released information on this matter.
It is reported that Armenia's public debt to GDP ratio is 53.4 percent. In Georgia, this ratio is 34.2 percent, in Turkey 24.3 percent, in Russia 23.1 percent, and in Iran it is 35.6 percent. The lowest indicator is in Azerbaijan - 22.4 percent.
Japan is the country with the highest public debt to GDP ratio in the world, at 230 percent.
