The Iranian authorities have not yet agreed to continue talks with the United States.
Modern.az reports that “Tasnim” agency spread information about this.
It is reported that official Tehran does not want to continue the dialogue due to US President Donald Trump's military blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and Iranian ports, and "America's excessive demands during negotiations."
"Iran emphasizes that the absence of excessive demands from the Americans is the main condition for the continuation of negotiations; otherwise, Iran will not waste time on tiring and useless negotiations," Tasnim said.
Tehran's position was conveyed to Washington through Pakistan, the agency added.
On April 17, the Iranian authorities announced that the Strait of Hormuz was fully open for commercial shipping during the current ceasefire. On the morning of April 18, Tehran announced the restoration of military control over the strait due to US policy.
