A dispute arose in the Armenian Parliament between the ruling "Civil Contract" faction and the opposition regarding the topic of "the return of 300,000 Azerbaijanis."
Modern.az reports that Eduard Aghajanyan, a deputy from the ruling faction, addressed questions to opposition deputy Aram Vardevanyan, reminding him of his participation in meetings held under the leadership of businessman Samvel Karapetyan during the pre-election campaign.
The representative of the ruling party asked whether the topic of "the return of 300,000 Azerbaijanis" was formed during those discussions and whether Vardevanyan participated in the content of the video materials prepared on this issue.
Aram Vardevanyan rejected the accusations, stating that he had no connection with the preparation of those videos.
He added that the issue of "the return of 300,000 Azerbaijanis" was first brought to the agenda in parliament by the deputies of the ruling "Civil Contract" faction.
"It's interesting that you first talk about this topic, and then you say that it shouldn't be talked about," Vardevanyan said.
The opposition deputy accused the government of political manipulation, noting that some deputies present pre-prepared speeches, claiming that they are "forced to speak."
