European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that the European Union has allocated the next financial aid to Ukraine from the funds obtained from frozen Russian assets.

Modern.az reports that she shared this on the social network X.

"We are allocating another 1.4 billion euros to Ukraine from these assets," von der Leyen said.

She also touched upon Russia's recent attacks against Ukraine, emphasizing that Moscow must be held accountable for the damage it has caused.

A statement released by the European Commission on August 5 said that the allocated 1.4 billion euros will be financed from the revenues generated by frozen Russian assets.
