French President Emmanuel Macron announced that he will no longer be involved in politics after his term ends in 2027.
Modern.az reports that "Le Figaro" newspaper published this information.
Macron promised that after leaving the Élysée Palace in 2027, after ten years in office, he would no longer be involved in politics.
"I have never been involved in politics before, and I will not be involved in it after this," he said in a conversation with schoolchildren at the Franco-Cypriot School in Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus, where he was on an official visit to attend an informal summit of EU leaders.
He also noted that the most difficult part of the last decade of his presidency is to have the energy to correct what he "completely" failed to achieve, while defending his achievements.
"After 9 years, the most difficult thing is to protect what you have done well and try to move forward, but sometimes you have to correct what you have done wrong," said the French leader.
Presidential elections in France will be held in April 2027.
