Araqchi met Shahbaz Sharif in Islamabad

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi met with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif in the country's capital, Islamabad.

Modern.az reports that "IRNA" spread information about this. It is reported that the meeting took place within the framework of the first stage of Araqchi's three-country visit.

During the meeting, the parties discussed bilateral relations, as well as recent events in the region. In particular, Pakistan's diplomatic initiatives aimed at reducing tensions in West Asia were in the spotlight.

Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar also participated in the talks. The parties exchanged views on strengthening regional cooperation.

Shahbaz Sharif expressed his satisfaction with Araqchi's visit to Islamabad and recalled the recent visit of Pakistan Army Commander-in-Chief Asif Munir to Tehran. He also informed about his consultations with various country leaders and mediation efforts in US-Iran talks.

It should be noted that the Iranian minister also met with Field Marshal Asif Munir earlier within the framework of the visit. Araqchi's next stop within the framework of his three-country visit will be Muscat, and then Moscow.
