Work on the restoration of the Gyumri-Kars railway continues, but it is currently not possible to give a precise opinion on the project's implementation period.
Modern.az reports that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this in a statement to journalists.
"The main reason for this is the need for extensive assessments of the technical condition of the infrastructure. New technical problems periodically emerge during the investigations.
No one has dealt with this infrastructure for 40 years. Existing problems must be assessed, and then practical work should begin," the head of the Armenian government emphasized.
It should be noted that on May 5, special representatives for the normalization of relations between Armenia and Turkey declared their interest in the speedy start of the construction and restoration process of the Gyumri-Kars railway.
