A telephone conversation took place between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and US President Donald Trump.
Modern.az reports that, according to the Communication Department of the Turkish Presidential Administration, the parties discussed regional and global issues, as well as Turkey-US bilateral relations.
Erdoğan stated that it is important to make maximum use of diplomacy against the background of the tension between Iran and the US. He emphasized that they wish to continue negotiations and that Turkey will continue its support for peace efforts.
During the meeting, the Turkish leader also touched upon the "Joint Defense Agreement" signed with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Erdoğan said that with this agreement, they demonstrated a strong position in ensuring regional stability and security.
Erdoğan stated that an increase in the Israeli leadership's actions targeting Palestinians was observed at a time when the second phase of the peace process in Gaza was targeted.
The President of Turkey emphasized that his country will continue to support steps to ensure lasting peace in the region and the reconstruction of Gaza.
