US military forces allegedly struck a cargo ship in southern Iran overnight.
Modern.az reports that Iran's "Mehr" agency disseminated this information.
According to the agency, 10 sailors were injured and 5 people went missing as a result of the attack. No additional information was provided about the details of the incident and the circumstances under which the ship was hit.
It should be noted that the claims coincide with a time of increased tension between the US and Iran. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Washington is awaiting Iran's response to the proposed conflict resolution today.
In addition, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi previously stated that Tehran will never back down under pressure.
