It is important to strengthen regional energy integration in parallel with the expansion of energy connections and the opening of transport connections.
Modern.az reports that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this during his speech at a joint press conference with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Yerevan.
"In addition to the restoration of transport connections in the region within the framework of the "Crossroads of Peace" project, the expansion of energy connections also plays an important role. This process also includes energy connections with Turkey and Azerbaijan. The construction of power transmission lines and connecting infrastructure can contribute to both energy security and the "green transition" process," Pashinyan noted.
It should be noted that Ursula von der Leyen had previously announced during her visit to Baku that the European Union would allocate 200 million euros for the development of transport connections in the South Caucasus.
