A new European Union (EU) assessment mission will arrive in Armenia in the autumn.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. She noted that the purpose of the visit is to assess progress in the visa liberalization process and the fulfillment of the remaining criteria.
According to her, Armenia is currently the only partner country actively engaged in dialogue with the European Union on visa liberalization.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in turn, stated that the Armenian authorities plan to achieve a visa-free regime by 2029. According to the Prime Minister, much in this matter depends on how quickly and qualitatively Armenia implements its reform agenda.
