More than 2,000 people have died in France due to hot weather.
According to Modern.az, Minister of Health Stéfani Rist spoke about this in an interview with TF1 television channel.
According to the minister, the number of deaths in the period from June 22 to 28 was 2025 people.
He noted that this information is based on only 60 percent of death certificates. Therefore, the final figure may change later.
Rist also emphasized the increase in deaths among citizens over 45 years of age.
Severe heat has covered a significant part of Europe. France's meteorological service has declared the highest - red weather warning level in 72 of the country's 96 departments.
The air temperature approached 40 degrees Celsius, and in some areas it exceeded this indicator.
A particularly difficult situation is observed in Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece.
