Iran is considering the possibility of striking US military facilities in Europe if the war restarts and the US resumes military operations.
Modern.az reports that Financial Times published this information, citing sources close to the Iranian authorities.
According to the information, Tehran is particularly considering US military facilities in Southeast Europe among possible targets. Sources mentioned Bulgaria and Cyprus.
According to the publication, Iranian forces are evaluating options to expand the scope of possible retaliatory strikes against US military capabilities in the region.
One of the sources stated that military infrastructure in Cyprus was also considered among possible targets. It is noted that Bulgaria allowed the use of one of its bases for refueling US aircraft.
Financial Times also writes that Iran has explored possible attack options against underwater fiber-optic cables in the Strait of Hormuz in case of escalation.
However, experts say that Iran's capabilities to strike long-range targets in Europe are limited. Therefore, the practical possibilities of such a scenario for Tehran remain a separate question.
