President Donald Trump shared a map of the Strait of Hormuz on his “Truth Social” social network, calling it “new US territory.”
Modern.az reports that the Strait of Hormuz, located between Iran and Oman, is circled on the map shared by Trump. The map is labeled “New U.S. Territory” in English.
It should be noted that on August 17, “Al Arabiya” TV channel, citing sources, reported that the US and Iran had agreed to extend the ceasefire.
It should be recalled that on July 8, US President Donald Trump announced that the ceasefire reached with Iran was no longer in effect.
US troops have carried out several series of attacks against Iran since July 8. The US Armed Forces Central Command stated that these steps were allegedly taken in response to Iran's actions against commercial ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
In response, Tehran struck US military bases in several Middle Eastern countries, closed the Strait of Hormuz, and accused Washington of violating the memorandum on the cessation of military operations.
