Discussions on expanding relations between our countries and implementing joint projects were held, and documents were exchanged at the IV Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Interregional Forum organized in Tashkent.

According to the information, the IV Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Interregional Forum was held in Tashkent with the support of the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, and co-organized by the Export and Investment Promotion Agency - AZPROMO and the Agency for Attracting Foreign Investments of Uzbekistan. In addition to government officials from both countries, about 400 companies operating in heavy industry, machine building, metallurgy and metal processing, construction, textiles, agriculture, food, tourism, education, medicine and pharmaceuticals, engineering, consulting, mining, chemistry, furniture, electrical engineering, automotive industry, leather products, plastic processing and other fields were represented at the event.
Speaking at the forum, Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov stated that the intensive development of Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan relations thanks to the political will of our heads of state gives a significant impetus to further diversification of our economic ties and strengthening of our business partnership.
The Minister emphasized the positive dynamics of economic relations between our countries, which have strategic partnership relations, and noted the wide opportunities for strengthening regional connections. It was stated that relations are actively developing not only at the interstate level, but also between cities and regions.
The active promotion of cooperation, the strengthening of partnership in industry, investment, trade, energy, transport-transit, digitalization, agriculture and other areas, and direct ties between business circles were brought to attention.
It was also emphasized that the Middle Corridor is one of the main directions of economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. The goal is to turn the corridor not just into a transit route, but into an economic platform where added value is created. For this, it is important to deepen cooperation in coordinating railway and sea transportation, optimizing tariffs, and expanding digital data exchange.
Karabakh and East Zangazur are of particular importance in terms of new investment opportunities. The infrastructure and investment incentives created by the state here create favorable conditions for the private sector. Uzbekistan's support for the restoration of the liberated territories is an important indicator of the brotherhood between the two countries.
Uzbekistan's Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov stated that economic relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are consistently developing. It was emphasized that there are wide opportunities for increasing mutual trade and investments, strengthening direct business ties between regions and implementing joint projects.
AZPROMO Executive Director Yusif Abdullayev and Acting Director of Uzbekistan's Agency for Attracting Foreign Investments Roksana Nesor provided information about the investment and export potential of both countries, and the support mechanisms offered to entrepreneurs.
Also speaking at the forum were Sharaf Rakhmanov, Deputy Head of the Tashkent City Executive Power, Eldar Azizov, Head of the Baku City Executive Power, Jakhongir Mamajonov, Deputy Head of the Tashkent Region Executive Power, Emin Huseynov, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Aghdam, Fuzuli and Khojavend districts, Ayubkhon Kamalov, Head of the Namangan City Executive Power, and Faig Gurbatov, Head of the Bilasuvar District Executive Power.
In the speeches, ideas were expressed on expanding interregional cooperation and creating new partnership opportunities. In addition, Davron Khidoyatov, Deputy Chairman of "Uzavtosanoat" JSC, and Javid Abdullayev, Member of the Board of Directors of "Azersheker" LLC, who spoke at the event, talked about expanding joint business activities and promoting common projects.
Within the framework of the IV Interregional Forum successfully concluded between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, a number of documents aimed at developing cooperation in various fields between our countries were exchanged. Documents covering cooperation in priority areas such as energy, finance, infrastructure, construction and production will ensure further strengthening of ties between business associations, full realization of the potential of the private sector and implementation of joint projects.
The forum continued with meetings between business circles.
