Turkey's Istanbul Airport has once again become Europe's busiest airport with an average of 1665 flights per day.
Modern.az reports that Turkey's Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu evaluated the European Aviation Overview Report published by the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL) on August 20 in a written statement.
He stated that in the period from August 10 to 16, Turkey ranked 6th among countries with the highest air traffic volume in Europe with an average of 4,400 flights per day. With this indicator, Turkey surpassed countries such as Greece, Poland, the Netherlands, and Portugal.

Uraloğlu emphasized that Istanbul Airport has once again become Europe's busiest airport with an average of 1665 flights per day.
“Istanbul Airport surpassed Paris Charles de Gaulle, Amsterdam, and London Heathrow airports. Our Antalya Airport, with an average of 1037 flights per day, became Europe's 9th busiest airport,” the minister said.
Uraloğlu noted that from August 10 to 16, an average of 843 aircraft departed from Istanbul Airport daily among the 25 airports with the most traffic globally. With this indicator, Istanbul Airport ranked 6th worldwide.
