The Kremlin does not rule out a phone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump after American envoys visit Moscow and Kyiv.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
According to Peskov, the Kremlin currently has no information about the results of the contacts made by US representatives in Kyiv.
He described Putin's meeting with US special representative Steven Witkoff and Jared Kushner on September 5 as "a small step towards peace." Peskov emphasized that they highly appreciate the peace efforts of the US side.
"Russia highly appreciates the peacekeeping efforts of the Americans. Putin personally stated that he is grateful to Trump for striving for peace," Peskov said.
The Kremlin spokesman also did not rule out the possibility of resuming trilateral talks between Russia, the US and Ukraine. However, no specific date and place for such a meeting has been announced yet.
