Once per calendar year, 1 mobile device can be brought across the customs border under preferential conditions (without paying customs duties).
Modern.az reports that this is reflected in the amendments made to the Cabinet of Ministers' “Preferential and Simplified Rules for the Passage of Goods Not Intended for Production or Commercial Purposes by Individuals Across the Customs Border”.
According to the Decision, if the customs value of mobile devices brought into the customs territory by individuals exceeds the monthly limit established by sub-paragraphs 2.1.2 and 2.1.4 of these Rules (goods brought into the customs territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan once per calendar month, with a total customs value not exceeding the equivalent of 800 US dollars; goods brought into the customs territory once per calendar month in the name of the same individual via international postal shipments or a carrier company, with a total customs value not exceeding the equivalent of 300 US dollars), after deducting the amounts specified in the respective sub-paragraphs from the total customs value, the customs clearance of these goods will be carried out in a simplified manner, with customs duties collected in accordance with the tariff and non-tariff regulation of foreign economic activity.
This Decision comes into force from January 1, 2026.
