Institutions where the number of women is higher than men in Azerbaijan have been announced. According to statistics, women working in healthcare, education, and science fields are predominant.
According to Modern.az, the issue was reflected in the Information of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025, which was discussed at today's meeting of the Family, Women and Children Affairs Committee of the Milli Majlis.
The report stated that out of 190 people working in the Apparatus of the Ministry of Science and Education, 97 were women. The number of men in leadership positions in the ministry's structure was 30, while the number of women was 6.
It was noted that among those working as directors of general education in state educational institutions, 1478 were women and 1952 were men. Among deputy directors, women were predominant. Thus, 2577 women and 1529 men work as deputy directors.
In higher education institutions, 5 out of 53 rectors were women. Among faculty deans, there were 53 women and 112 men. Among department heads, there were 248 women and 445 men.
In non-state educational institutions, 18 women and 16 men work as general education directors. Among deputy directors, there were 87 women and 37 men.
According to the information, the total number of employees in the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences was 2954. Of them, 1977 were women and 977 were men.
The number of people working in leadership positions in ANAS was 259, of whom 203 were women. 7 out of 56 full members of the Academy and 9 out of 84 corresponding members are women.
According to the document, 730 women and 172 men work in the Department of Humanitarian Sciences. In the Department of Social Sciences, there were 547 women and 275 men.
The report stated that women constitute 61% and men 39% of the employees in the Apparatus of the Ministry of Health.
Out of 355 people working in the State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance, 205 were women and 150 were men.
Women constituted 55% and men 45% of the employees in TABIB.
In the Ministry of Culture, 64 women and 60 men work in total. In leadership positions, there were 21 men and 18 women.
In the State Service for Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage, 14 women and 15 men work. Among those in leadership positions, 4 were women and 7 were men.
In the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, 52 out of 74 employees were women and 22 were men. Among those in leadership positions, 12 were women and 6 were men.
The report also disclosed the gender distribution of employees in the State Statistical Committee.
It was stated that out of 305 people working in the Apparatus of the State Statistical Committee, 171 were women and 134 were men.
