We expressed our deep concern about the ongoing armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
Modern.az reports that Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said this at a joint press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow.
The minister stated that this conflict continues to have a serious negative impact on stability in the wider region: “Azerbaijan consistently reaffirms its commitment to the norms and principles of international law, calls for de-escalation and a peaceful resolution of the conflict.”
Jeyhun Bayramov noted that they also discussed the situation in the Middle East in the context of regional and international issues: “In the current unstable conditions, diplomatic cooperation, dialogue, and strict adherence to the norms and principles of international law are on the agenda as key tools that can prevent further escalation of tensions, prevent the deterioration of the humanitarian situation, and create minimal conditions for regional and even broader cooperation.”
