In the first half of 2026, 419 children were born in Lachin district.
This was reported by the State Statistical Committee in response to an inquiry from Modern.az.
According to the information, of the children born in January-June, 222 were boys and 197 were girls.
During the reporting period, 80 births were registered in urban areas of the district. Of these, 52 were boys and 28 were girls. In rural areas, 339 children were born. Of these children, 170 were boys and 169 were girls.
For comparison, a total of 937 births were registered in Lachin district during 2025. Of these, 545 were boys and 392 were girls.
In addition, last year 151 children - 89 boys and 62 girls - were born in urban areas, and 786 children - 456 boys and 330 girls - were born in rural areas.
It should be noted that today is celebrated as Lachin City Day.
