Tension in the Middle East continues to escalate. In particular, Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia have complicated the situation. Against the background of recent developments, the issue of the safety of pilgrims' visits to the holy lands - Mecca and Medina - has come to the fore. One of the striking points is the possibility of suspending pilgrims' visits to the Kaaba.
In his statement to Modern.az, Saudi journalist Ahmed Halabi stated that there are no restrictions on visits to Mecca and Medina:
"Currently, no restrictions have been imposed. Thank God, the number of Umrah pilgrims is increasing, and preparations for Hajj agreements are continuing normally," Ahmed Halabi noted.
The Saudi journalist answered the question of whether his country would ask for help from Turkey and Pakistan in accordance with the Mecca Agreement: "Such a step has not been taken yet. This is the work of politicians."
