The number of marriages in Azerbaijan decreased significantly in the first seven months of 2026.
Modern.az reports that this information was provided in the report of the State Statistical Committee on the socio-economic indicators for January-August 2026.
According to the report, 22,130 marriages were registered in the country in January-July of the current year. In the same period last year, this figure was 27,509.
Thus, the number of marriages decreased by 5,379 or approximately 19.6 percent in one year.
The number of marriages per 1000 people also decreased from 4.6 to 3.7.
In the same period, 11,678 divorces were registered in the country. In January-July 2025, this figure was 12,146. The number of divorces per 1000 people remained unchanged at 2.0.
