US President Donald Trump believes that it is too early to hypothesize that Reza Pahlavi, the eldest son of Iran's last Shah, could gain support in the Islamic Republic.

Modern.az reports that the American leader stated when speaking about Reza Pahlavi in an interview with Reuters Agency:

"He looks very good, but I don't know how it will be in his country. And we are not at that stage yet. We are investigating many things. But it is too early to say this. I don't know how he will get along with his country."

"I also cannot say whether his country would accept him in a leadership role, but if they did, I would not be against it," emphasized the White House chief.

Regarding the possibility of a change of power in Iran, Trump noted that "any regime can collapse."

"Whether it collapses or not, it will be an interesting time," Trump added.

Reza Pahlavi was born in Tehran in 1960. He was given the title of Crown Prince in 1967 and was expected to ascend to the throne after the death of his father, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. However, the 1979 Islamic Revolution overthrew the monarchy in Iran, and the family of the last Shah was forced to flee the country. After his father's death in 1980, Reza Pahlavi, the eldest son of the last Shah, remains a claimant to the throne.
He currently lives in the US and is an opponent of the current Iranian government, leading the Iranian National Council, which is based in Paris and was founded by political exiles whose activities are banned in the Islamic Republic.

Reza Pahlavi met yesterday, January 15, with Lindsey Graham, one of the senators closest to President Donald Trump. Today, Reza Pahlavi made ambitious promises.
