The US has presented Iran with a 15-point list of demands aimed at ending the war in the Middle East and reducing tensions in the region.
Modern.az reports that the document, presented to the Iranian leadership via Pakistan, primarily focuses on the country's nuclear energy, missile program, proxy forces in regional countries, and the situation concerning the Strait of Hormuz.
We present the list of demands.
1. Iran must dismantle its existing nuclear potential.
2. Iran must commit to never acquiring nuclear weapons.
3. No uranium enrichment can be carried out on Iranian soil.
4. Iran must hand over all 450 kg of 60% enriched uranium to the IAEA in the near future.
5. Iran's nuclear facilities - Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow - must be dismantled.
6. The IAEA will be granted full access, transparency, and oversight within Iran.
7. Iran must abandon its regional proxy paradigm.
8. Iran must cease financing, directing, and arming its regional proxies.
9. The Strait of Hormuz must be reopened and function as a free shipping lane.
10. Iran's missile program must be limited in terms of range and quantity; specifics will be determined later.
11. Iran will only be able to use missiles for self-defense.
12. All sanctions against Iran will be completely lifted.
13. The United States will assist Iran in the development of its civilian nuclear program, including electricity generation at the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant.
14. If Iran violates the terms, all sanctions will be reimposed.
15. The snapback mechanism for the automatic re-imposition of sanctions will be abolished.
